Fortitude, resilience, honesty, integrity and hard work all describe Chef lurii Frolov.
Four years ago, lurii joined us at Lakehouse. Since then, he has continued to grow in his role and responsibilities, becoming an incredible leader for our teams and an essential part of the success of both Lakehouse and Danceland.
We don’t speak the same language, but Lurii understands what Lakehouse is about and what we’re trying to build here. He cares about bringing people together, supporting those around him and creating something meaningful in this community.
Lurii has been through more than most people can imagine in his lifetime. Before moving his family acrosss the world to ensure his kids had a safe home and future — building a new life here in Manitoba, he helped feed those defending his home country of Ukraine. Through it all, he has continued to work hard, remain dependable and look out for the people around him.
His impact on our food program and events has been enormous. His skill, creativity and willingness to take on difficult ideas have helped us create things at Lakehouse and Danceland that we could not have done without him. As his role has grown, so has his influence on the work we do and the experiences we create.
But what matters most is who Lurii is. He shows up, works hard and helps find a way forward when things get difficult. He brings honesty, integrity and care to everything he does. He is a friend, a mentor and a central part of the Lakehouse kitchen. We trust him, and that means a great deal to us.
He is also a devoted husband to Olena and a loving father to their three sons. The care he gives his family says so much about the kind of person he is.
Lurii has become an important part of our lives and an essential part of Lakehouse and Danceland. We’re grateful he found his way to Manitoba, inspired to work alongside him and proud that his story is being told.
