Winter might not be here quite yet…but we’re already thinking snow. ❄️🌲

Waskesiu Resorts is proud to support the 30th Anniversary Sask Snow Show, happening November 6 & 7 at WTC Prairieland Park in Saskatoon.

If snowmobiling, winter adventures and getting outside when Saskatchewan turns white are your thing, this is a pretty good place to start getting excited for the season ahead.

And when all that snow-show inspiration has you thinking about your own winter getaway, remember that Cedar Village Cottages is open year-round!

Tickets are on sale now, and online purchases made by October 15 are entered for a chance to win a $250 show credit.

Hello, October 🍂

The pace is quieter, the mornings are cooler, and the forest is changing around us.

Summer might get most of the attention in Waskesiu, but there’s something pretty special about this time of year too. It’s a season for long walks, scenic drives, warm drinks, wildlife watching and coming back to a cozy cottage after a day outside.

And yes — you can still stay with us.

Cedar Village Cottages is open year-round, so your Waskesiu season doesn’t have to end when summer does.

Come see what October looks like in Prince Albert National Park.

There’s still time for one more summer-ish adventure. 🌲

Park admission to Prince Albert National Park is free through September 7, so if you’ve been looking for an excuse to head north, this might be it.

Take the scenic drive. Walk a trail. Wander through Waskesiu. Find something good to eat. Sit by the lake longer than you planned. Stay for the sunset.

You don’t need a complicated itinerary. Sometimes getting away is the whole point.

Turns out, a Waskesiu weekend can start in the Broadway District. 🌲🚗

Before heading north from Saskatoon, we stocked up on some road-trip essentials: groceries from Steep Hill Food Co-op, doughnuts from Nutana Bakery, charcuterie goodies from Bulk Cheese Warehouse and non-alcoholic Negronis from Dry Supply.

Then there was a guest appearance from Petra Market for the olives, because we weren’t about to let district boundaries stand between us and a good charcuterie board. 😂

A few favourite Saskatchewan businesses, a drive north and somewhere beautiful to enjoy it all.

From Broadway to Waskesiu, that sounds like a pretty good weekend to us.

What Broadway stop would you make before heading to the lake?

Spend the day taking it all in, sneak away to the lake when you need a quiet minute, and then come back and do it all again.

If you’re staying with us this weekend, we’ll see you out there. 💛

There’s a lot happening in Waskesiu this week. 🌲🎶

The Waskesiu Lakeside Music Festival is almost here, Parks Canada’s summer programming is wrapping up, and Gathering of the Guardians is happening this weekend too.

Add in beach time, a walk through town, a favourite treat, a sunset by the lake and maybe a little time with absolutely nowhere you need to be…and you’ve got a pretty great late-summer weekend.

If you’re heading our way, leave a little room in the itinerary for whatever you discover once you get here.
