So many beautiful spots to visit at Lake Superior Provincial Park!
We're officially waking up our social media accounts from winter hibernation just in time to remind you that backcountry camping and day-use areas at LSPP open tomorrow, Friday May 9th! 🌞
⚠️ Important information for visitors to the park this spring:
🌲 A friendly reminder that parking permits are required to access day-use areas and backcountry campsites are reservable
🌲 Please note that while much of the province has gone paperless, LSPP still requires physical vehicle permits to be displayed
🌲 Reservations can be made online at https://reservations.ontarioparks.ca or over the phone through the Ontario Parks Reservation Hotline: 1-888-668-7275
🌲 Check-in for backcountry camping, day-use permits, and watercraft rentals will be available at the Park Office at Red Rock Lake from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm daily
🌲 The Visitor Centre at Agawa Bay and both campgrounds (Agawa Bay & Rabbit Blanket Lake) remain closed until May 16th
🌲 Mijinemungshing Road and Gargantua Road are clear of snow and will be accessible on opening day
🌲 The Agawa Rock Pictographs Trail remains closed to the public until May 16th
🌲 Visitors at this time of year should be aware that there may be areas of lingering snow and ice in the park's interior and that initial trail maintenance is ongoing
🌲 Please drive cautiously through the park as Moose are especially active near roads this time of year and can be well camouflaged
