Magpie moments in early April. The land is slowly waking up. Sections of the river have opened, and we have been out paddling the cold waters enjoying the warm sunshine on our skin.
Wood ducks gather in the reservoir and the geese have returned as well, calling out as we paddle past their lively gaggles. The dogwood lining the river banks are vibrant red, a stark contrast to the sparkling icy snow. Everything feels fresh, as a new season awakens.
.
Last evening we were lucky enough to witness a beautiful American Kestrel perched a top a dead-standing tree alongside a trio of Trumpeter swans, passing through on their journey north.
Thank you Magpie 🤲🏽
