Hello family members and friends who helped us out on the renovations for Westwind! There are three months left in spring to book your complimentary weekend stay at our county home. Please contact either Friedemann or I for more details and book yourselves a luxurious escape in northern wine and food country!
This is now our favorite spot to relax and take in Prince Edward County life! I’m sure you will enjoy it too!!!

Mom and I are going to test out my family day itinerary at Westwind this weekend. Looking forward to it! If anyone wants to join us for Monday morning at Sandbank's Snowfest for snowshoeing and x-country skiing let me know! We have 4 extra spots;)

Hiya all followers of our favorite place to stay in Prince Edward County - bias of course;)
Here are are suggestions for your romantic Valentine's getaway:

Feb 9
Arrive by 6pm, unpack your vehicle and get settled into Westwind Retreat - your home for the next three days. Head out on a date to a per-reserved cozy booth or table for 2 at East and Main in Wellington (a down to earth, delicious foodie approved restaurant - best to call and make reservations a couple of days ahead to insure you'll get a table!)
Feb 10
Sleep in.
Venture on a mid-morning snowshoe or x-country ski expedition at Sand Banks Provincial Park with your own equipment. Take in the raw beauty along the shores of Lake Ontario and the sheltered cedar and pine wooded trails.
Bring lunch with you or go to the Saylor House Cafe in Bloomfield for a a hearty stew, chili, or grilled sandwich. This cafe is in a converted garage at the end of a driveway off Bloomfield's main street - just follow the sign. Poke around the village shops after lunch and find a treasure in the Luster and Tarnish jewelry shop while you are there.
Head to Picton before 5pm to catch the last hour of the Agrarian Market behind the Picton LCBO - for cold cuts, specialty cheeses, baked goods, and other nibble food.
Pick up your groceries at Metro or No-frills before heading back home to make your honey a romantic meal of your creation
or
take her out to the Waring House (at the Picton round-about) for a Valentine's dinner, dance, and live music evening.
Feb 11
Check out at 11am and partake in a the chocolate and wine pairing tutelage (1hr) at Sand Bank Wineries just west of the town of Wellington on Hwy 33 - the Loyalist Parkway.
Have a stone-fired pizza at Norman Hardie in Hillier picking up a case of wine that was taste tested by Prince Charles and Camilla during their visit to the County for Canada's birthday in 2017.
Enjoy a leisurely ride home reflecting on how lovely the weekend was and start planning for your next stay at Westwind Retreat - your new home away from home.
