Winter, you’ve been swell. But, it’s time for us to set our sights on warmer days. Summer at the Journeyman Lodge is a hiker’s paradise, with crystal clear lakes, alpine meadows filled with wild flowers, and majestic peaks to scramble (for those looking to get up high).

Don't let a cloudy start to spring get you down. Make your way to the Callaghan Base to enjoy our snowy winter wonderland this weekend. We have snow shoes and nordic skiing equipment for rent, with trails ranging from beginner to advanced. Open Friday - Monday. See you there!

This weekend is our 3rd and final Nordic Ski Benchmark event for the season ❄️ Don't miss out on this fun day gliding up to the lodge, fuelling up with a chili lunch, then cruising back down to the base. ⁠

🕣 Time: Arrive by 8:30 AM ⁠

📍 Location: Callaghan Base – Start your 13.5 km journey to the Journeyman Lodge and back (roundtrip - 27 km)⁠

🍽️ $12 Hot Lunch: Enjoy a delicious chili by our in house chef, Arsenii, from 12 PM – 2 PM at the finish line⁠

🎁 Grand Prize: A night’s stay for two at the Journeyman Lodge (1 entry per person, drawn at random). Other awesome door prizes for best dressed, best time, youngest trooper.⁠

While we love when our lodge is referred to as a powder paradise, we must admit that the summer experience is just as good—imagine long days in the mountains, sparkling lakes, blooming wildflowers, and kilometres of trails to explore. Our summer trips run over the weekend, starting in July and ending in September. You can book a single room or the entire lodge to fill with friends. ⁠

We have some big things planned for this summer! Lake paddles, hiking, trail running, berry picking, scaling summits, and of course, the sauna! The lodge will be open on the weekends, July - September, with both guided and self-guided options available. Book a room or the whole lodge!
