🎃🌕 Happy Camp-O-Ween at MacKinnon’s Campground! 🌕🎃

Dust off your costumes and join us for a full day of Halloween fun for the whole family!

🌭 12:00 PM – Free Hot Dogs

🎭 The Costume Parade will begin at the washroom building at 5:00 PM. From there, we’ll head out for trick-or-treating! To help everyone have a safe and fun experience, children are asked to only visit trailers and campsites that are decorated for Halloween, as those campers are participating in the festivities.

Whether you’re decorating your campsite, dressing up in costume, or making memories around the campfire, Camp-O-Ween is one of our favourite weekends of the season. Bring the whole family and get ready for a day filled with fun, laughter, and a little Halloween magic.

🎃 Costumes are encouraged, and don’t forget to decorate your campsite if you’d like to hand out treats!

Many of you in the Lake Ainslie community know Shawn MacDougall. Shawn grew up next door to MacKinnon’s Campground and has been a lifelong friend of our family.

Shawn is currently in Halifax after being diagnosed with cancer. As he, his wife Cyndle, and their son Theo face the difficult road ahead, we want to come together as a community to help ease some of the financial burden.

A donation basket has been put in the store, with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Shawn and his family.

If you’re able to contribute, no matter the amount, your generosity is greatly appreciated. If you’re unable to donate, we ask that you keep Shawn, Cyndle, and Theo in your thoughts and prayers.

Thank you for helping us support one of our own. ❤️

🚰 A Quick Water Reminder

We’ve had a few campers mention an unpleasant odour from their water recently. We’d like to reassure everyone that our campground water is tested regularly for bacteria and coliform, and our most recent test results are posted in the store for anyone who wishes to review them.

In many cases, odours originate within an individual RV or campsite water system rather than the campground’s water supply. The graphic highlights a few simple best practices that can help keep your water fresh throughout the camping season.

If you’ve tried these tips and are still experiencing an issue, please stop by the office. We’d be happy to help troubleshoot the problem with you.

Thanks for helping us keep MacKinnon’s Campground a safe, clean, and enjoyable place for everyone!

A special thank you to the Backyard Campers for their incredible donation made in memory of Donnie Robertson. Your generosity and commitment to making a difference are truly appreciated.

We would also like to congratulate our Fishing Derby winners! 🏆
