A Productive Day at the Williams Lake Stampede Campground!

Today was filled with progress and teamwork as we continued preparations for Stampede week.

A big thank you to Deanne Thorpe, Gord McAulay, and Dale Toutant for lending a hand. Together we successfully:

✅ Raised and secured the musicians’ tent
✅ Laid out and staked the overflow camping sites
✅ Continued getting the grounds ready for our incoming guests

We would also like to thank the City of Williams Lake for applying dust control to help keep our roads in great condition during the busy weeks ahead.

Not every discovery was a positive one, however. While working around the grounds, we found significant damage to one of our Mountain Ash trees. It’s always disappointing to lose part of the beautiful landscape that helps make the campground such a welcoming place.

With each task completed, we’re one step closer to welcoming campers, visitors, and performers for another great Williams Lake Stampede.

🎡🤠 Stampede has been a tradition for generations!

As we prepare for another exciting Stampede season, it’s fun to look back at the memories that have made this event so special over the years. This wonderful photo shows the Burke children at the Stampede grounds in the early 1960s, proudly posing beside a classic car and dressed for the occasion.

For decades, families have gathered to enjoy the rodeo, midway, parades, and community spirit that make Stampede such an important part of our heritage. Photos like this remind us that while the faces and fashions may change, the traditions and memories continue to bring people together year after year.

A big thank you to the City of Williams Lake for the significant landscaping work recently completed around the Stampede Grounds. 🌳🌿

The improvements have really helped spruce up the grounds as we prepare to welcome visitors, competitors, volunteers, and spectators for the upcoming Stampede.

We appreciate the City’s continued support and partnership in helping showcase one of Williams Lake’s premier community facilities.
