We did it! Had a beautiful day for our Alzheimer Society of Manitoba Walk 2025. Perfect temperature, super fun event and so many of our colleagues in care and families in attendance. We’ve all been touched by Alzheimer’s in one way or another. Those of us in the Personal Care Home sector see so many on this journey. GLL is proud to represent all our residents and families at this years walk 🥰❤️

It’s a beautiful thing to see so many people join together to raise money and awareness. Nursing Week has come to an end at GLL. What wonderful celebrations and appreciation our GLL nursing staff were shown. Thank you to all that residents, families and staff that took time to appreciate our nursing teams. Thank you to Tracy our Manager of Support Services who made cupcakes for the nursing team 🥰

We’d like to extend a big thank-you to our Director of Care, Jenn Lambert, for hosting a delicious dinner this evening for nursing staff. Thank-you also to Dr. Fred Ball, GLL Medical Director, for joining us too! Our nursing staff are part of a very large team at GLL. Although our celebrations have centred around our nursing staff; we know it takes many disciplines (HCA’s, REHAB, Social Work, Housekeeping, Food Services, Recreation, Maintenance) to provide our residents with optimal care. GLL nurses provide our care teams with support, training, and guidance. Thank you to all staff of GLL! ❤️🥰

Did you know in Canada 🇨🇦 in 2025 nursing staff will account for nearly half of the healthcare sector! Formal nursing training programs in Canada began in 1874 in St. Catharines, Ontario.

National Nursing Week in Canada (May 12 - 18, 2025) was established in 1985. The second week of May, encompassing the anniversary of Florence Nightingale's birth on May 12th, was officially proclaimed as National Nurses Week by the federal minister of health. This week is a time to celebrate and recognize the contributions of nurses across Canada.

Golden Links Lodge is happy and proud to celebrate our nursing staff not only during this special week but all the time for all they do in assisting our residents.

We will be appreciating our nurses with all kinds of love and thanks for the care they provide 365/24/7 each year during this week!

Just a smile, a squeeze of the hand, a moment to listen means so much when you’re not feeling well. In addition, the clinical assistance that our GLL nurses give daily to our residents is amazing ❤️🥰

We will be sharing with our families (via email) some of the activities we have planned for our nursing team. We’d love to have families join us this week during some of our activities appreciating our nurses!
