Does your dog give you trouble when handling his/her feet?
Try offering a high reward food item to get your dog comfortable and practice every day so nail trims aren't such a scary situation.
This is something you should start the day you bring your new puppy home, but it's also a very helpful technique when working with dogs who may already have an aversion to having their feet handled.
