La Meridiana Hotel is located on the lakeside in Ascona, an ancient village full of buildings and memoirs from the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Our hotel, is in the p
edestrian area full of restaurants, shops and boutiques, close to the old town centre, to city’s harbour and to the covered parking facilities. At the beginning of 20th century our hotel was called Villa Beau Rivage and during post-war period hosted a so-called “hotel garnì” (something like a British B&B) run by Rosetta and Noemi Perucchi, alias Max´s great-aunts. The building, renovated in 2007 by architect Vittorio Pedrocchi, represents today a perfect blending of history and innovation; its opulent façade and Medieval walls combine smoothly with its modern, elegant interior design. Its present name descends from the Italian word for sundial, “meridiana”, an ancient clock measuring time per sun position, which can be seen painted on façade and on internal walls of our building.
