Not “a woman in the kitchen” but a Culinary Director, a leader, a colleague.
To close our March series, we introduce Nadine Waechter-Moreno, Culinary Director at the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz.
Since 2023, she has been shaping our culinary direction, overseeing everything from fine dining to banqueting and in-room dining. Leading a team of around 70 chefs, Nadine places great value on collaboration and mutual respect.
Her journey is international: from her training in Lucerne to kitchens across Tokyo, Mexico, Bali, and Singapore. Today, she brings this global perspective into evolving the culinary experience at our resort.
When asked about “women in the kitchen,” Nadine remains clear: “We are more than a label. For me, craftsmanship is what matters - regardless of whether you’re a man or a woman.”
At the same time, she acknowledges the realities of the profession. Especially as a woman and a mother. It takes structure, support, and a strong team, both at work and at home.
She welcomes the shift happening in the industry today, where more women are naturally stepping into leading roles. And she encourages others to follow:
Women do make a difference and often bringing a sense of calm to the kitchen.
Looking ahead, 2026 marks an exciting chapter, as Nadine and her team elevate the culinary offering of the Grand Resort Bad Ragaz to a new level.
