We caught up with jury member Bryan Wolljung (), Head of Bars at Fairmont Le Montreux Palace and Funky Claude's Bar, to get his impressions fresh from the competition.

For Bryan, it was his first time at MIXIP, and he was genuinely impressed by the quality of the event, especially as it is entirely student-organized, which is a true testament to the talent and dedication of SHMS students.

🎉 Celebrating our Digital Creator Program highlights for April 2026!

A huge congratulations to our Star of the Month, Evelyn 🎉(), from our Caux campus! With 5 pieces of content, over 21.6K video views, 12.8K impressions, and a 2.70% engagement rate, she truly led the way this month.

We also want to congratulate our Rising Star, Angelina ()🥳, who made a remarkable impression with an outstanding 3.15% engagement rate - the highest of the month!

SHMS Got Talent 🏆✨

Our very first SHMS talent show turned out to be everything we imagined — and more!

Organised by Semester 2 students from Groups 3 and 4 as part of their Event Concept Design module, the evening brought together 11 live performances, a professional judging panel, a welcome reception, a gala dinner, and a full award ceremony — all in front of a packed audience of students, staff, VIPs, and industry guests.

What made it truly special was that every part of the event was led by our students ✨. From logistics and operations to guest experience and entertainment, they managed it all from start to finish.

The feedback said it best: incredible energy, creativity, and a level of professionalism that really stood out.

Give students the opportunity — and they’ll go beyond expectations every time. 👏

🏁 Loop.X 2026 - where learning meets real-world impact!

On May 2nd, our students delivered the Backyard Loop Elimination Race in Leysin, a dynamic, student-led event set against a breathtaking Alpine backdrop. Bringing together runners, families, and the wider hospitality community, the day was full of energy and purpose.

From initial concept to final ex*****on, every aspect, from race operations, logistics, guest experience, and entertainment, was managed by our students with professionalism and attention to detail. It was a clear demonstration of applied learning in action.

Beyond the race, Loop.X 2026 supported Save the Children, turning participation into meaningful impact and reinforcing the values behind what we do. ❤️

A proud moment for our students, who continue to show what hospitality education looks like when it goes beyond the classroom: focused, hands-on, and executed with excellence.

🥇 1st Place at Millésime 2026

We are incredibly proud of our very own Quang Hung Nguyen (Harry) .hngastley_ for representing SHMS on the international stage and securing first place at the prestigious EHL Millésime Wine Competition 2026.

A sincere thank you to Corentin Guedon, coach and representative from SHMS, whose guidance and dedication played a key role in this outstanding achievement.

Competing under the theme 'Vina Mundi', nine teams from eight countries came together to celebrate the diversity of wine regions across the world. Representing Switzerland as one unified team, Harry Nguyen from SHMS, Gwanho Lee from , and Léo Viaud from faced the University of Cambridge in the final and emerged victorious, under the guidance of coaches Corentin Guedon from SHMS and Phuong Linh Nguyen from .

The competition was judged by renowned experts including Paolo Basso, ASI Best Sommelier of the World 2013, Salvatore Castano, ASI Best Sommelier of Europe and Africa 2021, and Roxane Fenal. Beyond the competition, students also attended a masterclass led by Mathieu Jullien, CEO of LVMH Vins d’Exception, and explored the iconic Lavaux vineyards, creating a truly immersive and enriching experience from start to finish.

This is Swiss hospitality education at its finest. 🍷

Celebrating cultural diversity at SHMS! 🌍

During Cultural Day at SHMS, we invited our students to share a simple yet powerful message in their own languages: “Welcome to SHMS.” The result is a beautiful illustration of the diversity, inclusivity, and international spirit that define our community.

From different corners of the world, each voice highlights the richness of cultures that come together here, creating an environment where everyone feels at home. This initiative not only celebrates our students’ unique backgrounds but also reinforces the sense of belonging that unites us all.
