The The Hide Hotel, by contrast, stands as a beacon of welcome, inspiration, relaxation, and social connection—literally, a hidden gem among the crystal-geode stones that help make this corner of the Swiss Alps a UNESCO World Heritage site. Set in Flims, The Hide is a home base for gastronomic diversity, dramatic scenery, and—coming in June 2019—a world-class wellness facility. Outside, one discovers a winter wonderland featuring 235 kilometers of pistes that are literally at the doortstep thanks to the property’s ski-in/ski-out access, while summer dazzles with crystal-clear lakes and the adventure-rich “Swiss Grand Canyon”. Inside, guests and locals alike are welcomed by an inviting lobby area that feels like a living room—a space defined by a fireplace, lounge, bar, and library. The rooms, which capture the same underlying Alpine ambience of the hotel’s public spaces, are brilliantly conceived by Erik Nissen Johansen of the firm Stylt Trampoli AB, a Norwegian visionary and artist with a passion for engaging design experiences that focus on storytelling. Not only will guests of The Hide be able to take advantage of a boutique cinema, ski and bike hire, and a ski and snowboard school, but their children won’t stop raving about the hotel’s giant “Kindercity”, which includes a chocolate workshop, a dinosaur workshop, a robotics lab, and much more.
