Set in an iconic 19th-century building, this luxury 5-star hotel offers timeless European Luxury at the foot of the Cable Car with unrivalled access to skiing and hiking trails. Kempinski Grand Hotel des Bains is located in St Moritz Bad, right at the Mauritius spring, the actual root of St Moritz itself. It is the only 5-star luxury hotel in St Moritz with direct access to the ski and hiking region of Corviglia – immediately opposite of the cable car station. The legendary Hahnensee ski run ends in front of the hotel and the cross-country ski runs of the Engadine ski marathon pass it too. Take advantage of the skiing rentals and school, ski services and the overnight deposit at the cable cars. It is a relaxed grand hotel that offers 184 elegant rooms and suites and 27 luxury residences, three restaurants, a bar and a cigar lounge. Our Executive Chef and Marketing team are setting out together to discover the region’s finest produce and bring even more local ingredients into our kitchen.

Our journey takes us to S-chanf, where Arno and Tatiana Gabriel run a pioneering mountain farm. Among the first farmers in the Engadin to introduce Simmental cattle, they produce Natura-Beef and natural veal, alongside specialty gourmet potatoes supplied to regional five-star hotels and local restaurants.

For us, these visits are about understanding where our ingredients come from and meeting the people whose knowledge, care and dedication shape their quality. Working closely with local farmers allows us to support our community, celebrate seasonal flavours and strengthen the connection between our kitchen and the place we call home.

Stay tuned as we continue our local produce journey, meeting our producers and discovering the ingredients and stories that will inspire our menus for winter 2026/2027 and the summer season ahead.

As our summer season comes to an end, we want to pause and say thank you.

Whether you joined us for a few quiet days in the mountains, a celebration with loved ones, or a summer escape, it was a pleasure to welcome you. Your visits gave this season its life, and we are grateful for every moment shared.

To our team: Thank you for everything you have given this summer. From the warm welcome at the door to the thoughtful details that guests may never see, your care and dedication make this hotel what it is. We are proud of what we have created together.

Travelling to St. Moritz by train feels like part of the holiday itself. Settle in by the window and watch Alpine villages, grazing cows, mountain lakes and sweeping peaks pass by.

On the route from Chur, the train crosses the Landwasser Viaduct, a curved stone bridge that leads straight into a tunnel in the mountainside. South of St. Moritz, the Bernina line passes the pale waters of Lago Bianco near Ospizio Bernina. Continue towards Tirano and you’ll cross the Brusio Circular Viaduct, where the train makes a full loop as it descends the valley.

From your first glimpse of the Alps to the last turn in the tracks, the views make the journey unforgettable!
