Along the famous CARRETERA AUSTRAL ...
an unforgettable trip on this more than 1200km road linking Puerto Montt in the north to Villa O´Higgins, the so far most southern point. The construction of this road started in 1976 and it took over 20 years to connect Villa O´Higgins. Before Patagonia could only be reached by plane or boat.
Travelling the Carretera Austral means about 1000 kms of gravelled road and a little bit less than 300 kms of asphalted road.
Its an unique experience to travel the Carretera Austral by car, (motor)bike or using the public transport. Along the whole path you will find an incredible variety of mountains, lakes, glaciers and woods that make this land one of the World's wonders.

..un hermoso lugar a solamente diez minutos de la cuidad!
Con una superficie de 2.150 hectáreas, la Reserva Nacional Coyhaique es un lugar enclavado en medio de bosques nativos y exóticos.

Está ubicada al norte de la capital regional, a menos de 5 kilómetros desde el límite urbano. Creada en 1948, es una de las unidades más antiguas de la región. Con una superficie de 2.150 hectáreas. El paisaje de la reserva se caracteriza por presentar lomajes suaves y montañas mayores como el ya mencionado cerro Cinchao de 1.361 metros.
La Reserva cuenta con diversos senderos peatonales y circuitos vehiculares, los que permiten acceder a sitios con excelentes vistas panorámicas de Coyhaique, las lagunas y los valles circundantes.
