Aquí la experiencia de dos huéspedes, que viajan por Sudamérica en Bicicleta, y quienes pasaron el año nuevo con nosotros.
"Arrived at the outskirts of Villarrica just in time to get some views of the amazingly beautiful snow-cone volcano before it clouded up. Bit of a struggle to find Hostal Ajedrez as it was a small place on a non-maps.me marked road. Felipe the chess-mad (ajedrez = chess) owner was most welcoming. We were initially a bit crestfallen to hear we were the only folk staying but all brightened up when Felipe explained he´d several friends and relatives coming for a paella feast and we´d be welcome to join. Excellent.
Really fun evening. About 10 rels, mainly of Rummy, Felipe´s girlfriend in the cost hostal for niblbles, something called monkey drink, fizz, great paella thaen our rather soggy tiramasu. Folk were very patient with our terrible language skills. We were informed that we were now proper Chileans as we had brought wine in a box (2 L gato negra - we were more interested in quantity than quality).
Armed with bottles of fizz we all heade to the lakeside for the excellent midnight fireworks, then back to the hostal for more partying. Jane made me tell the drunk in the library* joke in spannish, which was followed by pin-drop silence. Otherwise all a good laugh and off to bed about 03:00.
*Drunk stumbles into a library and at the desk asks, loudly "A portion of fish and chips please". Librarian responds "ssssshhhh, its a library". Drunk whispers "a portion of fish and chips please"."

Back to South America for more of the best. Travelling with bikes, not always on them.
