광저우는 세계에서 두 번째, 중국에서 가장 높은(610m) 송출탑인 광저우 탑 (혹은 캔턴 타워)과 쑨원유적지, 예술특구 ‘얼사다오’, 4대 불교 사찰 ‘류롱스’ 그리고 '하늘에서는 비행기, 네발 달린 것 중에서는 책상을 빼고 다 먹을 수 있다’는 말이 유래했을 만큼 다양한 식재료를 사용하는 중국 4대 요리 중 하나인 광동요리로 유명합니다.

또한 제3국행 항공권과 비자를 소지한 외국인이라면 중국 비자 없이 광동성 내에서 72시간 체류할 수 있는 정책 시행되어, 광저우는 비행시간으로 고작 3시간 10여 분 거리의 이미 가까운 곳 이었지만, 앞으로 더욱 편리하게 찾을 수 있게 되었습니다 (신청은 광저우 행 항공사에서 대리 신고할 수 있으며, 체류 시간은 입국 다음날 0시부터 계산돼 만 3일간 체류).
