Into the forest, eyes to the ground.

Mushroom season brings one of our favourite reasons to wander into the forests around Hidden Valley.

Guided by local knowledge, guests can head out in search of wild mushrooms, learning what to look for and discovering what the season has brought to the forest floor.

It is a simple experience, but one deeply connected to life in the valley — following the seasons, spending time outdoors, and seeing the landscape through the eyes of those who know it best.

And, on a good day, returning with a basket a little fuller than when you left 🍄🍃

Far from the city lights, some evenings reveal a little more — a clear night, a quiet valley, and the Milky Way stretching overhead.

Sometimes, all you need to do is look up. ✨

Around the table, with the valley all around.

On a beautiful evening in Hidden Valley, dinner found its way outdoors — beneath the open canopy, with the mountains stretching beyond and our Tibetan tents in the distance.

As daylight faded, candles were lit, hotpots arrived at the table, and everyone gathered over good food and conversation.

Because sometimes, a memorable meal is as much about where you are and who you share it with, as what is on the table.

Once the home of the village head, today it welcomes travellers from around the world.

Our Tibetan Residence is set within a beautifully restored 150-year-old home that once belonged to the village head. While thoughtfully adapted for modern comfort, its original character and craftsmanship have been carefully preserved.

To stay here is to experience more than a place to rest. It’s an opportunity to spend time within a home that has stood at the heart of the valley for generations, where history continues to be part of everyday life.

Some histories are best experienced from within.
