El Faro is a hostel with a relaxed vibe and a unique charm thanks to its beautiful decorations made of countless sea shells, which have been collected and applied with love over the past 30 years. We are located in Arboletes, a lively and authentic Caribbean small town in Colombia, situated right on the coastal route between Cartagena and Capurganá. It's just a one and a half hour ride by bus to N
ecoclí, where modern and comfortable speed boats depart to Capurganá. Arboletes' main attraction is definitely its mud filled volcano crater 'Volcán de lodo', where you can have a swim. We can either have you picked up at our hostel by one of Arboletes' colourful tuc tucs, or you just walk the 20 minute track along the coastline. There are showers provided on site for a small fee to wash off the mud. Alternatively, just walk down to the beach and jump into the ocean. Another highlight are the breathtaking ocean sunsets, which you can enjoy while listening to Latin sounds and sipping a cold drink underneath a roof of palm trees in one of the beach bars. For the night owls among you there are several discotécas not far from the beach where you can dance the night away. Spot birds, bats, and with a little bit of luck maybe even a sloth while canoeing on a nearby creek, which is embedded in lush tropical vegetation. Our hostel offers dorm, single, double, twin, triple and quadruple rooms, all of which with a private bathroom and a fan, and some rooms with air conditioning. WiFi is free and available in all common areas and in most of the rooms. The restaurant and the common TV area with hammocks both have views to the sea, as we are situated just 50 m from Arboletes' main beach. More hammocks can be found in the patio, which also features open showers, a lounge area and the reception.
