Entre el 15 y 16 de noviembre de 2020, el Huracán Iota causó grandes daños en la isla de Providencia (Colombia), incluyendo a la Posada Salt Creek, hogar y fuente de ingresos de la Familia Cruz Whitaker en el sector de Lazy Hill. Cuatro meses después del huracán, la reconstrucción de Providencia sigue siendo incierta, y como muchas personas en la isla, no sabemos ni cuándo ni cómo recuperaremos nuestra casa y posada. Hemos perdido nuestro hogar, nuestra salud se ha visto afectada, algunos de los nuestros han tenido que irse a San Andrés debido a la situación precaria de la vida en la isla, y tenemos pérdidas millonarias que difícilmente repararemos. Esta vaca busca apoyar al proceso de reconstrucción de nuestra posada. De antemano les agradecemos por su solidaridad.
On November 15th and 16th, 2020, Hurricane Iota caused extensive damage on Old Providencia Island (Colombia), including Salt Creek Posada, home and main income of the Cruz Whitaker Family in the Lazy Hill section. Four months after the hurricane, Providence reconstruction remains uncertain, and like many people on the island, we do not know when or how we will recover our house and bussiness. We have lost our home, our health has been affected, some of our family had to go from the island due to the precarious life situation, and we have great losses that we will hardly repair.
