The beaches in Taganga are so close and easy to get to, I couldn’t imagine not spending one more afternoon soaking up the sun and taking in the splendor of the dessert mountains meeting the beach.

Taste of Taganga 🏝️🌊🍲

This quiet little fisherman's village are where some of the best views, fresh seafood, and beaches are.

Take a bus or moto taxi and enjoy the costal views that wind between Santa Marta and Taganga.

Hike the costal trail or take a lancha (small bota) to Playa Grande or beyond.

But whatever you do, do not leave without tasting the Caribbean flavours. The cazuela de mariscos is 😋😋😋👌🏻

The perfect place to stroll along the beach. Check out the local artisan vendors, watch life unfold as boats pull in and out of shore - it's the perfect place to chill and people watch.

Stay for the sunsets, and go into town for dinner or predrinks. Everything you want at your fingertips.

Parque San Miguel isn't flashy. It's just everyday Santa Marta.

Elders playing chess under the trees, kids playing as school lets out, filling the park with noise and energy.

An outdoor gym where locals and tourists workout in the heat. People sitting on benches to rest, and of course, share some chismes (gossip). And in the background, the flower stalls are always there, fresh cuttings adding colour to the scene.

It's not a landmark you "check off."
It's a place you pass through...and end up staying a while.

When you stay at La Guaca, spots like this are just part of exploring the neighbourhood. 🌿✨
