I turned one gallon of fresh cow milk into 4 meals and threw nothing away!

Resiliency isn’t buying more. It’s using more of what you already have.

Fresh cow milk → cheese → lasagna → oatmeal.
The whey that most people pour down the drain became the base for my lasagna sauce and my tasty creamy oatmeal breakfast.

One ingredient. Four uses. Zero waste.

Homestead upcycling tip of the day: use your old hanging wire baskets for fresh leaf fodder for your fish pond! My tilapia love it, and I can remove the stems easily, so I don’t have an abundance of decomposing green matter in the water competing with a fish for oxygen.

Only in Costa Rica:
A Bank teller at a bank I do not bank at- occasionally use for actions when I’m in that town, remembers me from March.
He pulls out a FOLDER with a receipt showing me he owes me 16,370 Costa Rican colones. He has waited 4 months for me to come back in, remembers me(😳) and hands it over after a complex series of conversations and letter writing.

I took that money straight to the hot springs and lunch ! Circle of life.

U.S. Residents be Aware!

Oregon: *IP 28 “PEACE Act”* is heading for the Nov 3, 2026 ballot.

*PEACE = People for the Elimination of Animal Cruelty Exemptions*
But it would:
- Criminalize dehorning, castration, Artificial Insemination and slaughter of livestock
- Ban hunting, fishing, and trapping
- Threaten small farms, dairy, and homesteaders who process their own food
- Push us toward corporate-controlled food and away from local food autonomy

They call it PEACE. It’s really about taking away your right to raise and harvest your own food.

This is a test case. If it passes in OR, it comes to your state next.
