We have a Key. 🔑

We are incredibly honored to share that The Retreat Costa Rica has been awarded One MICHELIN Key in the 2026 MICHELIN Guide.

For those who may not be familiar, the MICHELIN Key is the MICHELIN Guide’s distinction for exceptional hotels, much like the MICHELIN Star recognizes exceptional restaurants. It recognizes the experience as a whole, from service and design to character and connection to place.

For a small, independently owned hotel like ours, this means more than we can put into words. To be recognized by the MICHELIN Guide alongside exceptional hotels around the world is a remarkable moment in our story.

More than anything, we are grateful. To our incredible team who brings so much heart and care to The Retreat every day, and to every guest who has stayed with us, returned, recommended us, and become part of our story: thank you.
