🚨‼️🚨‼️
Unfortunately due to the hard rains earlier this year, the Rio Celeste waterfall viewpoint has been closed for quite some months now.
You can still see the waterfall, but can only walk down about halfway. You can't go all the way down to the bottom.
Who knows when they'll fix it up as it's been 6 months... 😐
But the rest of the hike in Tenorio Volcano National Park is still very nice and the other view points like the bridge and union of two rivers are still open.
If you're visiting Tenorio Volcano National Park as a day trip, make the most of your day by combining the walk in the national park with another activity, as long as you get there in the morning.
You can stop at the Free Pool access to swim in Rio Celeste, visit one of the private reserves to see wildlife (we only like Finca Verde), go tubing down the Rio Celeste river or hike the rainforest hanging bridges on the Heliconias Lodge property.

PS. They do not sell park tickets at the door anymore. Remember to purchase park tickets on the SINAC website and do NOT be late for your chosen time slot!
