Award-winning rustic guesthouse & organic farm on the eastern slopes of Volcano Tenorio. Go off the grid with us! We are located in Bijagua, Upala, Costa Rica.

The lodge sits on 170 acres, nestled in rainforest and fed by a freshwater river. We have a warm, friendly, Costa Rican staff and excellent home-cooked meals. The lodge is also a full-time cattle ranch and farm. Hike to the extraordinary Rio Celeste water fall, swim the blue lagoon and simmer in the hot springs

Horseback ride through the ranch, rainforests, meadows and hills, through fruit groves

, and endless green countryside. We have very well trained horses and are in great condition. Swim, sun, or fish just off the back deck in a natural, freshwater pool Relax after a long day of hiking in our fire-heated tub. Bird and wildlife watching

Take day trips to a wildcat refuge, Caño Negro, Volcano Arenal, river rafting and more! Fish and paddle around in a boat on our lake. Observe the stunning views of Lake Nicaragua, Volcano Tenorio and Volcano Miravalles.

Not one, but TWO Yellow-throated Toucans spotted singing together in this fabulous capture by Alex & Steff!

These beauties hang out in groups and are constantly chirping and singing together. They are curious and clever birds, and they are some of our favorite species to watch.
