Selva Verde Lodge and Rainforest Reserve is a premier eco- destination nestled in the lowland tropical rainforest of northeastern Costa Rica.

“We are an ecotourism destination devoted to the protection and conservation of the environment, offering all visitors a unique rainforest experience through interpretation, adventure and interaction with our community”. The Holbrook Family established the lodge and reserve in 1985, and today it remains a venerable pioneer of the ecotourism movement in Costa Rica. It is a magical haven for birders, nature enthusiasts, hikers, students, families, and travelers who come for a genuine experience in the rainforest through interpretation, adventure, and interaction with the local community. Selva Verde is situated along the Sarapiquí River, protecting 570 acres of critical old-growth rainforest habitat. The reserve is home to over 300 species of birds, both resident and migratory, 330 species of trees, 120 species of mammals and countless other plant and insect species. Committed to conservation and preservation, Selva Verde carries and supports the Certification for Sustainable Tourism (CST).
