Also, there are well-known dental clinics just around the corner from us, and the Hospital CIMA is 5 minutes by car from our house. We are also close to great shopping at Multiplaza, excellent a 5-minute cab ride away. And then there is Escazú, a lovely little town nestled at the foot of the Pico Blanco and other Southern mountains. It is at once agrarian, with its adobe and clay roofs and planted fields of corn and beans above San Antonio, and chic, surrounded by some of the more affluent neighborhoods of the greater San José area. You can eat typical Costa Rican food (great casados, plantain patacones, rice and beans, fresh tortillas with sour cream, guacamole) at the local Posada de las Brujas or you can drive to Avenida Escazú and eat sophisticated French fare at Ile de France, wonderful seafood at Product-C or at Saga. They now have a PF Chang´s there. Some of the most creative chefs work around the Escazú area, at places like Punto Gastronómico and Il Pescatore in Guachipelin, or Olivia´s in the Compai shopping center.
