Sloth-Like Fishermen Reel in Big Catches off Costa Rica Coast
SLOST, COSTA RICA - A team of leisurely fishermen made a big catch on February 6, proving slow and steady wins the race - or in this case, reels in the fish.
The Sloth Life Offshore Sailfishing Team (SLOST) hauled in four massive sailfish 32 miles off the coast of Costa Rica, directly in front of their aptly named "Sloth Life Beach House." The unlikely anglers spent the day cruising at sloth-speed on their boat "Sueltalo", eventually wrangling the huge fish despite their characteristically languid pace.
Cathy Guitar landed her first colossal sailfish, while teammates JD, Jori, and Jason also snagged giant catches. Team captain Cindy was the champion of morale, keeping spirits high and chili guaro shots flowing.
"We may take things slow, but when it comes to sailfishing, we eventually get the job done," said team member JD. "Our easygoing attitude keeps us relaxed out there on the water, and the fish just swim right on up and bite our lines."
SLOST is looking for a few new members to join their laidback crew. Prospective anglers who enjoy snoozing in the sun, swinging in hammocks, and not rushing a single thing are encouraged to apply at slothlifeCR.com. As SLOST's big catch shows, taking your sweet time can still yield huge rewards.
