A little love note to the Mandala Shala.

The heart of our property.

Before our resort, the owners visioned on the mandala hill, creating campfires and intention ceremonies (and s’mores) with their kids… ✨

Intentions were placed on small papers into the earth, which would eventually become part of the foundation for the Mandala Yoga shala. Your practice integrates with their intentions for the land in this shala.

A space for movement, ceremony, stillness and connection - surrounded by nature and held beneath its beautiful bamboo design.

So many moments begin here: deep breaths, shared practices, meaningful conversations and memories that stay long after the retreat ends.

There is something truly special about this space.

Why Green Season may be the perfect retreat season 🌺

A retreat doesn’t need constant sunshine to be transformational.

Green Season at Mandala Ojochal runs from mid-May through mid-November, bringing a different kind of beauty to Costa Rica - lush jungle landscapes, flowing waterfalls, rich tropical sounds, and a slower rhythm that invites guests to truly settle in.

Rain creates natural pauses for rest, reflection, and integration, while the jungle feels especially alive and immersive. Waterfalls and rivers are at their most powerful, popular destinations can feel quieter, and the softer pace of the season lends itself beautifully to connection, creativity, and deeper practice.
