Iglesia Colonial is the oldest active church in Costa Rica and is here in downtown Orosi. The Church of Orosi, also known as the Colonial Church of Orosi or the Church of San José de Orosi, is a Catholic Christian temple. It is one of the oldest buildings in the country, dating from the time of the Spanish Colony, which persist to the present day. It was built in 1767 by Franciscan friars and is dedicated to Saint Joseph. In the old convent of the friars, a museum of religious art is currently located. Since 1920 it has been the historical-architectural heritage of Costa Rica and in 1985 it was declared a National Monument.

Meet Linda and Ernie, the owners and operators of Cafe Cristina. This is the first fully organic coffee farm in Costa Rica and they’ve owned and operated it for more than 40 years. It is the most incredible coffee in Costa Rica. And the good news is? They are only 30 minutes away from the guest house in our valley. Make plans to take their tour and learn what Organic really is all about. The real deal!
