Casa Tordesillas is located on top of the Coastal Range on the South West Pacific of Costa Rica, sorounded by tropical forests, cascading rivers and a view from 1000 mts of the coast and Talamanca mountain range. It is accessible by 4X4 from the Panamerican Highway through the towns of San Rafael and Socorro de Platanares.

This 4th picture is the drying of the boards, since it is a hard wood, the dry better during the rainy season, so as to keep the pores open and keep the boards from bending. The way they are stacked is also to help and keep the board straight.

Our Story

Casa Tordesillas is located on top of the Coastal Range on the South West Pacific of Costa Rica, sorounded by tropical forests, cascading rivers and a view from 1000 mts of the coast and Talamanca mountain range. It is accessible from the Panamerican Highway through the towns of San Rafael and Socorro de Platanares. It is 30 km from San Isidro del General and now it is also accesible from the beach and the Marino Ballena National Park in Uvita, but it requires a good 4X4 and as a good driver...

We are not a business, but a way of life which caters to those interested in sustainable and regenerative practices, which we (Marga and i) have been practicing since 1992.

We do offer room and board, tours through the forest and to the waterfalls and its swimming pools; as well as talks around the fire place, mostly about the times we live and the importance of sustainable and regenerative practices.
