What a regal looking girl Hero is. She is an 8 year old German Shepherd mix who weighs 70 pounds. We are told Hero is a loving girl who is happiest being as close to her people as possible. If you have room in your bed for Hero, she'd be a happy dog!

Hero lived with another dog until about 3 years ago when he passed away. We are told she is nervous around other dogs. Hero prefers calm dogs that are smaller than her. She chases cats out of the yard so she needs a no kitty home! Hero has been good with children but hides from kids under 6 years old. This leads us to believe a home with older children would be best for Hero. She sounds like a very sensitive girl who is in need of a stress free environment.

Hero enjoys getting out twice a day for 30-45 minute walks. She won't pull when she's wearing a Gentler Leader harness. Hero loves to play with her ball. She will protect her toys from other dogs but we are told with humans she does not. Hero can manage stairs now but she is showing signs of arthritis. Her adopter should plan on giving her a supplement to help with that or perhaps once she's vetted upon adoption, a vet can recommend something for her.

We are told Hero can manage quite a while before needing a potty break. She would appreciate a home where she is allowed on the couch. Hero reportedly barks only to let you know she needs something but she has been known to "guard" the fence when other dogs are on the other side. This means barking! Once should keep that in mind when considering an adoption of Hero.

Hero would do best in a home with a securely fenced yard. She enjoys getting outside to sniff or sit and enjoy the nice weather (when we have it!). A fenced yard is also a good place for Hero to go to when she needs to hide from the vacuum cleaner-this and slippery floors are scary for her.

Gizmo is an exotic looking beauty. She is a mixed breed girl who weighs about 70 pounds. This 11 year old is said to have "a calm, easy-going personality". She has been an only dog all of her life but has done OK with other dogs her size during play time while being boarded. Gizmo's family states she does not care for small dogs. Never having lived with cats, she will chase them out of her yard if they dare to venture in.

Gizmo has been a loving family dog, doing well with children who are gentle to her. She is a smart dog who knows some verbal commands. Her owner reports she will do just about anything for a treat! We are told she does not bark much. Gizmo spends most of her days hanging out inside her home either on her dog bed or the couch.

Gizmo does well on leash and appreciates 1-2 daily walks as well as time to play in her fenced yard. Playing ball and getting belly rubs are 2 favorite pastimes. Gizmo can stay home alone inside her home without any issue and she can manage stairs. At this time her owner reports she can manage quite a while before she needs a potty break.

Riding in a car is not Gizmo's idea of fun. She gets anxious about car rides so one shouldn't expect a ride along buddy but she will happily welcome you home upon your return. There's nothing like the joy of a dog's welcome home!
