Did you know?
The Osa Peninsula, a small stretch of land on Costa Rica's
southern Pacific coast, holds 2.5% of all the biodiversity
found on Earth, packed into less than 0.001% of the
planet's surface.
National Geographic called it "one of the most fecund flecks
of land on Earth."
In its forests live more than 450 bird species, 4 species of
monkeys, scarlet macaws, toucans, sloths, jaguars and tapirs.
From mangroves to old-growth lowland rainforest, across
13 different ecosystems, all within a peninsula you can
drive across in under two hours.
El Remanso sits in a 185-acre private reserve within the
Osa National Wildlife Refuge. We've been here since 1999.

Your villa sits inside the rainforest, not beside it, not overlooking it. Inside it. The canopy is the ceiling. Sunrise hits your private pool before you have thought about your phone. Three meals a day made with what the Osa grows. A guide who hears the scarlet macaw before it comes into view.

The Osa Peninsula holds nearly 2.5% of the world’s biodiversity in a space smaller than most countries. El Remanso is how you step inside that fact.
