Club Amateur de Pesca brought the energy—and the Yellowfin followed! 🎣🐟

After a fantastic day working the boils just offshore, the crew returned with a beautiful catch of Yellowfin Tuna and plenty of smiles.

The fish are close, the bite is hot, and the reels have been singing all week. Everything is lining up for another phenomenal tuna season.

🌙 A very special late-night guest checked in at reception … a tapir enjoying a peaceful stroll through the resort under the moonlight.

Seeing wildlife like this so comfortable on our property is an incredible sign of a healthy ecosystem and the success of our ongoing conservation efforts. Tapirs are shy, sensitive animals that thrive only in areas where forests, waterways, and natural habitats remain protected and undisturbed. Their presence reminds us that this land is still wonderfully wild. 💚

At Crocodile Bay, we’re proud to share our home with the amazing wildlife of Costa Rica and to continue protecting the environment that makes encounters like this possible.

🎣 Kayak fishing at Crocodile Bay went from good to EPIC!

Fishing alongside expert guide Carlos, our anglers were targeting Roosters, Jacks, and Snappers when the trip delivered an unforgettable surprise — a massive SNOOK that absolutely made this angler’s week! 🔥🐟

Battling a fish like this from a kayak is pure adrenaline, and moments like these are what turn a fishing trip into a story that gets told for years. 🌊🎣

The FIRST EVER Cubera Snapper satellite tagging event is officially in the books on Costa Rica’s legendary Osa Peninsula! 🌎🎣

Led by Roxanne Willmar and sponsored by Gray FishTag Research, this groundbreaking effort was hosted by Crocodile Bay Marina & Botanika Osa Peninsula.

The event began Friday evening with a continuing education session focused on proper catch, tagging, recording, and release techniques for both inshore and offshore species.

Saturday, the mission moved offshore.

Crocodile Bay donated two Strike 35’s and assembled an incredible team of anglers, captains, mates, and researchers determined to deploy the FIRST ever microPAT satellite tag on a Cubera Snapper.

After a full day on the water — including several roosterfish successfully ribbon-tagged with GFR tags — the right Cubera was identified in the final hour. Following an exciting boat-to-boat transfer, the satellite tag was successfully deployed. ✅🐟📡

A huge milestone for Cubera fisheries research and conservation in Costa Rica and the world!

🔥 The inshore fishery in the Golfo Dulce and the waters surrounding the Osa Peninsula is absolutely on fire right now.

The crew aboard B Reel experienced exactly why this region is one of the most unique fisheries in the world — landing and releasing a rare Pacific tarpon along with trophy Cubera Snapper, Roosterfish, and more.

Few places on earth give anglers a legitimate shot at this kind of mixed-bag action in a single day. Big bites, hard fights, and unforgettable moments are happening daily right now at Crocodile Bay. 🎣🌴

Tuna Tuesday and the Jailhouse Croc delivered! 🐟

The tuna schools are in close, and the offshore bite has been intense. 🔥

Congratulations to Bill Hewett on this impressive 130 lb Yellowfin Tuna aboard the Jailhouse Croc with Captain Oldemar and Mate Daniel. What a catch and a great fight from start to finish!
