Every detail exceeded expectations—from the warm welcome drinks to the incredible staff who made us feel like family. The food was exceptional with plenty of vegan, vegetarian, and omnivore options (don't skip the brownie!). Highlights included the private beach setup with snacks, towels, and amazing guacamole, the unforgettable night walk, birdwatching tour, Osa Trail hike, waterfall, infinity pool overlooking the Pacific, and even releasing baby sea turtles. “We stayed 3 nights at Lapa Rios. Everything was perfect, starting with the welcome. The concierge team is friendly, very competent and discreet. We stayed in Bungalow 3, with breathtaking views, a large terrace, and an outdoor shower. The bed was incredibly comfortable.

The guides deserve special recognition. They are highly knowledgeable, able to spot wildlife where we saw nothing, and identify birds simply by their songs. Thank you to Danilo, Sandra, Frank, and Edwin for sharing your knowledge and love for the Osa Peninsula.

We highly recommend Corcovado National Park, as well as the Early Bird Walk, the Matapalo Tour, and the Night Walk—each offering a unique atmosphere and wildlife experience. The restaurant and bar, with their spectacular views, served excellent, varied, and delicious cuisine, and the cocktails were outstanding.”

A very special milestone for conservation on the Osa Peninsula!

On Sunday, June 28, 24 Olive Ridley sea turtle (Lepidochelys olivacea) hatchlings were successfully released at Pan Dulce Beach, marking an important milestone in the “Sea Turtle Conservation of the Osa Peninsula through Assisted Incubation” project, led by Amazon Conservation Team (ACT).

This initiative was created in response to the increasing erosion of nesting beaches, where rising sea levels, stronger tides, and more intense storms are destroying many nests before the hatchlings have a chance to emerge. Through assisted incubation, nests at risk are carefully relocated to a protected hatchery, significantly improving their chances of survival.

At Lapa Rios Lodge and Böëna Lodges, we are proud to support this initiative by helping fund daily beach patrols, protecting the incubation hatchery located within our private reserve, and providing training for our staff and naturalist guides, who will also participate in future hatchling releases with our guests under the guidance of ACT’s technical team.

Every hatchling that reaches the ocean represents a new hope for the conservation of one of the Osa Peninsula’s most iconic marine species. 💚
