Nice surprise!!!!
Today during the morning walk, the staff from Punta Marenco Lodge and our Monitoring wildlife team from the Punta Rio Claro Wildlife Refuge found a sloth facing down from guarumo tree (Cecropia peltata). This cute guy named Brown-throated sloth (Bradypus variegatus)
They spend nearly all of their time aloft, hanging from branches with a powerful grip aided by their long claws. Sloths even sleep in trees, and they sleep a lot—some 15 to 20 hours every day. Even when awake they often remain motionless. At night they eat leaves, shoots, and fruit from the trees and get almost all of their water from juicy plants.

Our camera traps capture the central America agouiti,📸📸🎉. They live in pairs and are active during the day. Each pair occupies territory with fruiting trees usually near water. Males defend their territory and drive off intruders through fighting, aggressive displays, or vocally emitting dog-like barks.
Agoutis conceal themselves at night in hollow tree trunks or in burrows among roots. They also take readily to water, in which they swim well. When feeding, agoutis sit on their hind legs and hold food between their fore paws. 🥜🥜
Central American agoutis are important for the dispersal of seeds, as they regularly bury seeds and fruits in a cache at times when food is plentiful. ,
They are also an important connection in food webs., As a prey species, numbers of agoutis may affect populations of local predators such as eagles and jaguars

What a stunning bird 🤩

This is a Charming Hummingbird!✨

This species can be found in Costa Rica and Panama. It usually stays within the exterior of forests, searching for flowers and insects to eat. The bright color of its costume makes it stand out from the flowers’ colors. Fun fact, to courtship females, the males join forces and sing together making them more attractive.
