We’ve lived in Costa Rica for over a dozen years, and watching the monkeys still stops us in our tracks. They’re part of the daily magic here — graceful, goofy, and totally captivating. But a friendly reminder from us: please don’t feed them.

Why? Human food and hands can harm monkeys in lots of ways — from disease and dependence to risky behavior and poor nutrition (bananas aren’t always what they need). It’s even against Costa Rican law. Let’s keep these wild neighbors wild and healthy.
