We’re excited to share that Villas Oasis in Manuel Antonio is now under new ownership! We (Mike and Daffney) have loved vacationing in Costa Rica for years and decided to purchase Villas Oasis. Familiar with the industry, we have been successful 5 star Superhosts with Airbnb for over 5 years.

During this slow season we have decided to take on some renovations. They are currently underway in the Primary Bedroom of the Penthouse expanding the bathroom to a spa like retreat with an outdoor shower. And in the Hideaway one bedroom a complete remodel of the bedroom, kitchen and family room. Along with some other needed maintenance, there are alot of changes happening. Plans for more upgrades in the future.

We agree — Costa Rica has officially climbed to 6th place in the 2025 World Happiness Report, making it the happiest country in the Americas and cracking the global top 10 for the first time ever! 🇨🇷✨

Released by Oxford University’s Centre for Wellbeing Research, the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, and Gallup.

The rankings, based on life satisfaction, social support, health, freedom, generosity, and corruption levels, highlight Costa Rica’s strong social fabric, low corruption, and that famous “Pura Vida” lifestyle.

A key takeaway from the report? Believing in the kindness of others is a bigger predictor of happiness than income. “Human happiness stems from relationships. Positive social connections and acts of kindness boost well-being,” explains Lara B. Aknin, a social psychology professor at Simon Fraser University.

And in Costa Rica, that makes total sense. From big family gatherings to communal casado meals, life here is built around connection.

If Michael Jordan makes the trip to our little hometown, we must have something special going on!

The six-time NBA champion, Hall of Famer, and all-around legend visited Quepos and our stunning world-class Marina this January to participate in the prestigious Pelagic Rockstar Offshore Tournament. Villas Oasis, ideally located just 10 minutes from the Marina and only 5 minutes from the beach, would have been the perfect spot for MJ to stay—if only we hadn’t been fully booked! Maybe next year, he just needs to give us a plenty of heads-up.

Jordan’s boat had an impressive showing, finishing 10th overall in the SONAR 3K BILLFISH RELEASE OVERALL TOP THREE category and 7th in the SONAR 20K BILLFISH RELEASE WTA category. Their total catch included 2 blue marlin, 1 black marlin, and an impressive 33 sailfish—a total of 36 fish on the board!

While 33 sailfish might seem like a massive haul (and it is), this region of Costa Rica is world-renowned for its incredible sailfish fishing. In fact, across the entire tournament, a staggering 2,325 sailfish were caught, solidifying Quepos as one of the top sportfishing destinations in the world.
