NEED TO GET YOUR STAMPS? Day trips to Nicaragua...

This trip starts at 5AM at your hotel. The first stop is for breakfast, then it’s off to the border for crossing and duty free shopping.

After the border crossing we head to the city of Granada for a tour of the old colonial style architecture, then to the breathtaking panoramic views from the top of the Church Clock Tower, dating back to the 1800′s.

Next we spend 20 minutes or so in the city park for pictures.

Afterwards everyone heads to the docks on lake Nicaragua to board the boat, then it’s off to the islands.

We visit 30 – 40 small islands ( called islets). One is called 'monkey island' because it is inhabited by spider monkeys. Another is home to a Spanish fort built in the early 1800's.

After boating we depart Granada heading for the active volcano Massaya, briefly for pictures(the reason for the short amount of time spent here is the amount of sulfur gasses being released).

Next we're off to the Massaya Handicraft/Souvenir Market, where we have lunch for about an hour. After shopping we head back for Costa Rica. On the way we stop at a lookout point called 'Catarina', which is a collapsed volcano (a perfectly round lagoon).

You will return to your hotel at approximately 8PM.
