Pelicans flying in formation over the calm waters of Golfo Dulce — a common but beautiful sight in the Osa Peninsula. These coastal birds often glide in sync, using teamwork to conserve energy as they travel. Nature’s coordination at its finest.

Tucked away in the heart of the Golfo Dulce Forest Reserve, Kunken is where wild rainforest meets serene ocean. Wake up to the sounds of the jungle, fall asleep under a canopy of stars, and reconnect with nature in one of Costa Rica’s last truly untouched paradises.

In perfect harmony, we find ourselves—not above nature, but within it.
When we walk gently on the Earth, we remember that we are not separate from the wild, but a part of its rhythm.
Balance isn’t something we create; it’s something we return to.
Let’s live with the land, not just on it.

Meet one of our slowest — and most beloved — guests!
This peaceful sloth was spotted just outside the hotel, reminding us to slow down and enjoy the little moments.
One of the many magical encounters you can have when staying with us in the heart of Costa Rica.
Have you ever seen a sloth in the wild?

Ylang Ylang (Cananga odorata) 🌸
This stunning tree fills the air at Kunken with its sweet, floral fragrance almost all year round. If the scent feels familiar, you might recognize it from iconic perfumes like Chanel No. 5.
Ylang Ylang is more than just a beautiful aroma it’s wonderfully versatile. Its essential oil is celebrated for its calming, stress-relieving properties. Locally, it’s treasured for infusing coconut oil with its scent and for traditional remedies, from easing headaches to supporting respiratory health.
Come experience it for yourself at Kunken — breathe in nature’s own perfume. 💛🌿
