Finca La Puesta Del Sol is a farm located in Mirador on the Osa Peninsula of Costa Rica. We offer work exchange programs that include lessons in gardening and basic construction. Also offered are beach trips, horse tours, waterfall tours, and guided tour through the jungles of the gorgeous Osa peninsula which is one of the richest and most biodiverse places in the world. You can see the stunning v
iews of the river valley and ocean from all. In fact you can see about half of the biggest tourist attractions on available on the Pacific Coast from this farm including Chirripo, Manuel Antonio, Cano Island, not to mention an incredible stretch of beach. The work exchange is optional and not particularly demanding. It is more of a hands on class than work. A special gardening space will be set aside for working with more delicate plants and you would be helping to plant ornamental plants and fruit trees near future building sites. Depending on when you are here you may also be assisting in some construction projects such as the new kitchen for the bar. Should you decide to participate in the work exchange you will be provided three meals per day. Sometimes the owner will cook and sometimes it will be expected of volunteers but all ingredients will be provided. If you want any food that is not provided there is a small store within walking distance. Mirador is a perfect small Costa Rican town with a church, school, small store, and two bars in the area. It is just down the hill from the farm. Our cabins are set up to be either dorm style or with one double bed. The price per person per night is $25.
