I’m hearing that there could be troubles in Mexico which could interfere with vacation plans. So, since winter storms are making life bad, maybe you should plan to visit us in always safe Costa Rica. Just a thought, and we have space available at Tamarindo Village Hotel.

Good Morning, everyone. We are fast approaching Easter Week (“Semana Santa” as it is known and celebrated throughout Latin America). We thought we should update all our friends about happenings in our part of Costa Rica.
Coronavirus - What’s that? We are pleased to say that most restrictions in and around Tamarindo are minimal. Life is great, almost like normal. Really.
We are open and have been since November. All our accommodations and normal amenities are available.
Breakfast for all guests is still included in our room rates. It is important that we state this fact because we are almost alone among our competitors in doing this.
Airfares to Costa Rico are LOW. I checked this morning. Cinsidering our weather, 88 degree beach water, low airline prices, and our great rates, there is no excuse for not escaping to freedom (and free breakfasts like what you see, below). Mmmmmm.

Message From Tamarindo Village:

Hola, everyone! Happy post-Thanksgiving. We know a lot if you may have been, still are??, out ‘saving money’ on Black Friday. We hope so - save a lot because We are here to tell you about the travel deal of the decade...Yes, that was “Decade”.

If you feel the need to escape the coming snow, cold weather, sh*t-heads in your area telling you about limits on family for Christmas, New Years, you-name-it, WE HAVE THE CURE, AND IT’S CHEAP: COME SEE US AT TAMARINDO VILLAGE.

Remember, I said best prices in a decade? I meant that. Honest. This season beginning in December, even including the New Years week, prices are the lowest they have been in years. I even saw great prices today for some airlines.

Isn’t it time to get the heck away? It is and Tamarindo is the breath of fresh beach air, no mask, that you have been dreaming about.

Greetings from Tamarindo Village Hotel. In these weird times, I thought it would be appropriate to check in with everyone to spread the truth. Yes, in fact, I believe that you and we CAN handle the truth.

“Da T’ing”: That’s how locals say ‘THE THING’ here (one of my favorite horror movies from the days back when), and that is the term I’m using to cover this virus that is freaking people out.

First, facts: we in Costa Rica have around 30 known cases of da t’ing. The health care system is good at doing legwork, so they know the chain of infection on all of this. And all of that is in San Jose - 1 carrier did pass through Liberia, 1.5 hours from us, but no as-yet known incidences of da t’ing jumping onto others as a result.

Tamarindo: We are here in Guanacaste Province, cow country at the beach - we self-isolated years in advance of da t’ing. We might not be smart or even sober, but we did good on this one. And - it’s tropical sunny and hot here, too. Too bad da’ t’ing doesn’t like hot and tropical (I heard this, don’t know if it’s totally true, but I like it, so I’m going with it. Prove me wrong, I’ll buy your rum drink.)

Fact - no problems here except for the terrible and sad news that a number of travelers have postponed visiting hot & tropical Tamarindo because it was the right thing to do (not to mention cancelled flights and the aforementioned freaking out over da t’ing by governments and “news” outlets).
The result - we get the great weather to ourselves because fewer visitors. That’s good news / bad news, obviously. So we make lemonade out of it, with vodka. Happy times.

Toilet paper: What is up with that, people? Costa Rica has plenty; nobody fighting in aisle #3 over TP, either. And ‘they’ call us 3rd world? Come on.

We have had a great high season here with a ton of super guests. We have made new friends, seen a number of old friends, and we look forward to more if the same to come. Thank you to everyone who has stayed at Tamarindo Village this year ! If anyone needs or wants to isolate - come on down! If you have time, we have space. Cheap. 🌴😎🌴

When booking ask about our villas with private DIPPING POOLS. These are NOT heated whirlpool baths, but they are heated to a perfect temperature by the sun. Remember, Costa Rica is hot year round so they’ll never be cold but absolutely refreshing!

Jump in to wake up with a coffee from our endless complimentary coffee bar, after a beach session, or to wind down with a beer after a relaxing day in the sun.

It’s been 10 wonderful years today, since I was smart enough and fortunate enough to be married to Martha. We have spent 7 of those years in Tamarindo. Here we are with some of the family representing England, Australia, Mexico, and the USA.
Looking forward to lots more.

There is great fishing in Costa Rica - can you believe the size of this Dorado?? And, no, I’m not smiling about that fish being mine - it wasn’t. I’m just happy to be here riding on the Puntarenas ferry recently.
