Some of the most unforgettable experiences in Costa Rica happen when you are invited into someone’s home.

We had the privilege of spending time with a wonderful Eli, a local artisan who transforms plantain fibers into beautiful works of art. She welcomed us into her home, showed us how she prepares the fibers and creates natural dyes from local plants, and then invited us to work with our own hands and create something ourselves.

It was beautiful, personal, and wonderfully Costa Rican.

This is one of the things we love most about our area. Beyond the spectacular mountains and adventures, there are opportunities to meet local people, learn from them, and experience Costa Rica in a way that feels genuine and deeply memorable.
