There is the version of SURÁ people experience.

Then there is the version held together by friendship, moon-based project management, audacity, and somebody inevitably saying, “I know a shaman.”

We came here with a vision. Then SURÁ introduced revisions.

We learned that not every answer arrives as a plan.

Ceremony. Hospitality. Land stewardship. How long three women can stare at something before one of us says, “Okay, move it three inches.”

Some things are better experienced than explained. Ceremonies at SURÁ are one of them—join the fun.

Travel is supposed to take us out of our routine. We’d like to negotiate an exception for .

New places, unfamiliar streets, a few days of doing things differently—we’re here for all of it. Pebble comes along for the change of scenery, and the daily coffee keeps its place in the itinerary.

We can broaden our horizons without giving up every habit.

Some chanting is ancient. Some possess a BPM.

Repetition is part of the medicine. Give the mind the same sound long enough and it has fewer places to run. Then, the voice keeps returning to one thing until, eventually, you do too.

We know that from ceremony. We also know that some sounds bypass twenty-seven years of personal growth and take you back to the club. Very humbling. Very efficient.

The mic is on.

We built SURÁ with the belief that a place can be more than a place.

It can be a pause between who you were and who you are becoming. A space to rest, reconnect, and remember the parts of yourself that get a little quieter in everyday life.

When you’re ready for a different kind of stay, we’ll be here in Playa Negra.

We have always been fascinated by thresholds.

The places where one thing becomes another. Outside becomes inside. Strangers become guests. A trip becomes a memory.

Maybe that is why we care so much about welcoming people into SURÁ. Because every arrival is its own small ceremony.
