This Summer, Swap the City Heat for the Forest
Every July, Belgrade turns into a pressure cooker. The air sits heavy, the parks fill up, and the question families ask each other is always the same: where do we actually go?
Maglian is 75 minutes away — and it feels like a different world.
Tucked into the mountains of Divčibare at 1,000 metres above sea level, Maglian Forest Retreat is opening its summer family packages for July and August 2026. The temperature here runs 8–10°C cooler than the city. The forest starts where the terrace ends. And the pool is heated, which means the kids don't actually want to leave.
What a family summer stay looks like
Families book Maglian as a group — a few families together, or one extended family taking over the space. The venue operates on a per-person basis for smaller groups, or as a full exclusive buyout for larger ones. Either way, the rhythm is simple: breakfast when you wake up, trails or the pool through the day, dinner with the whole group in the evening.
For families with younger children, the trails around the campus include a 2-hour route to a waterfall on the Stražarski stream — flat enough for kids, interesting enough for adults. For teenagers, there's orienteering, archery, and the Maglian Open shooting range. For anyone who just wants to sit in the shade and read something longer than a Slack message, the terrace and relaxation zone are there.
Accommodation is in private rooms — doubles and singles — with full board included. Breakfast and dinner. The kitchen handles dietary requirements.
Pricing
Our summer family packages start at €280 for two nights. Breakfast, dinner, and children's activities are included.
Activities, drinks packages, and transfers from Belgrade are available separately.
Getting there
Maglian is 110 km from Belgrade — about 75 minutes by car . Transfer by minivan or bus for groups is available from Belgrade city centre or Nikola Tesla Airport.
Who it's for
Families who want a few days genuinely outside the city — not a resort, not a hotel lobby, not a managed holiday experience. Maglian is a forest campus. The staff are there, the food is there, the activities are there if you want them. But the point is the mountain air and the space to slow down together.
