Největší jeskyně na Kypru, dlouhá 250 metrů, se nachází nedaleko vesnice Cinarli. Pro veřejnost je je přístupných a osvětlených přibližně 70 metrů, na nichž mohou návštěvníci obdivovat množství krasových útvarů včetně stalagtitů a stalagmitů.

Podle pověsti využívali jeskyni loupežníci k ukrytí ukradených koz. Když vesničani sledovali stopy ukradených zvířat, objevili vstup do jeskyne. Připravili tedy na loupežníky past. Když po několika dnech čekání vstoupili do jeskyně, objevili ji prázdnou. Říká se, že loupežníci utekli druhým východem, který však stále čeká na objevení.

The largest cave in Cyprus, located near the village of Cinarli, is 250 metres long and accessible to public in a length of 70 metrers. The visitors can admire a fascinating collection of stalagmites and stalactites and a unique cauliflower shaped structures.

According to a legend, there were thieves who hid their stolen goats in this very cave. The villagers followed the footsteps of the goats and found the entrance to the cave. And they prepared an ambush. After waiting a few days they entered the cave only to discover it empty. It is said the thieves left the cave through the second entrance that is, however, still to be discovered.

Rozdělení Kypru z roku 1974 zůstává realitou všedního dne a žádné vážné rozhovory o případném sjednocení se v poslední době nevedou. Ostrov na pomezí Evropy a Asie je klasickým příkladem zamrzlého konfliktu.

The mountain biking trails are mostly made up of narrow forest roads and occasional tarmac roads with little or no traffic. In general, the rides are leisurely with intermittent breaks for snacks and exploring interesting spots.

The warm and crystal clear waters surrounding Northern Cyprus offer the perfect opportunity for divers from all over the world to discover the fascinaiting marine life. Owing to the fact that the water temperature in November is about 20°C the diving season lasts from April up until December.
You may spot octopus, eels, turtles and schools of migrant fish like tuna and amberjacks. On east of the picturesque Kyrenia castle and harbour, this dive site contains ancient artefacts, an old anchor and an airplane cockpit.

Reason # 22 / Baf Chewing Gum

Cyprus' traditional Baf Chewing Gum is a natural gum, harvested from the trunk of Pistacia terebinthus, the terebinth tree. The gum is amber in colour and is very tough. The gum sticks are wrapped in thin paper packages. Even though lately the gum has lost popularity, it is still a favourite amongst locals and tourists.
