The final Transnational Partner Meeting of the H.I.R.E project of the Erasmus+ programme of the EU that Larnaka Tourism Board is participating in took place in Larnaka on 30.09-02.10.26.

Cyprus partner Sandy Beach Hotel & Spa hosted and welcomed partners Dobre Kadry (Poland) and ΕΛΛΗΝΙΚΟ ΙΝΣΤΙΤΟΥΤΟ ΝΟΗΜΑΤΙΚΗΣ ΓΛΩΣΣΑΣ "Γέφυρες Επικοινωνίας" , Ε.Ν.Γ. (Greece).

The project aims to effectively support employers in the hotel industry in solving the problems of staff gaps through educational tools, and with an emphasis on hiring persons with disability and mature people aged 50+.

During the fruitful meeting, the testing phase, employment offers for various hotel positions that will be offered, and the overall effective dissemination of the project and its forthcoming results were all discussed in detail.

Larnaka Tourism Board and Sandy Beach Hotel & Spa – as Cyprus partners of the H.I.R.E project of the EU’s Erasmus+ programme - held an informative seminar on June 30, 2026.

The seminar was directed at women aged 50+ with little or no work experience who are seeking to enter or re-enter the workplace, and specifically within the tourism and hospitality sector.

The seminar was insightful and engaging, covering the barriers and challenges of employment in midlife, as well as ways to make the process easier, from both the perspective of the employer and employee. A fruitful discussion was also held, raising - and solving - some valid issues.
