The wood that comes off also needs to go somewhere. That's the least fun part... But the dump is nearby and I got to borrow the trailer from our great neighbours. Space is made to continue the stripping and insulating 💪🏼

A day later the record got broken again. Sunday it was 41.9 °C half an hour away 😱🥵🌞

🌡️ Czechia has officially set a new all-time temperature record.

On June 28, meteorologists recorded 41.9°C (107.4°F) in Doksany, making it the highest temperature ever measured in the Czech Republic and the first national temperature record set in June.

The extreme heatwave affected much of the country, with record-breaking temperatures reported across several regions. While temperatures are expected to ease at the start of the week, experts continue to remind everyone to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and take extra care of children, older adults, and pets during hot weather.

🌡️ Czechia has set a new national temperature record after the Doksany weather station measured 40.9C on Saturday afternoon, breaking a mark that had stood since 2012.

According to the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (ČHMÚ), the station in Doksany, in the Litoměřice area, reached 40.9C on Saturday afternoon.

At around 3:30 p.m., the institute reported that the Doksany station had already passed 40C, noting that the peak of the heatwave was expected on Sunday rather than Saturday.

Officials also confirmed that 40C was measured in Řež near Prague around 3 p.m. This marks the first time such a level has been recorded in June at any ČHMÚ monitoring station.

According to meteorologists, the most affected regions include Polabí, Poohří, South Moravia, and parts of Central Bohemia, where conditions are expected to remain extreme as the heatwave continues.

A big first task was to get rid of the ceiling in the first room. Making it ready for new insulation. But we weren't ready for how dirty the old stuff was. Luckily we got some help 💪
