Czeching Prague off our bucket list ✔️

So happy to finally exploring Prague these days! And thanks to for letting us stay it their amazing deluxe room - I could move in for sure 😍

This trip was a birthday gift to .0 and I’m so happy I was able to give him this experience 💛 it’s safe to say it’s been a success - especially since we went to a country where beer is cheaper than water 😂

Prague has really surprised both of us in the most pleasant of ways! Have you ever been? 🏰

Czech out my stories to see some of the secret bars we visited yesterday and some other fun exploring 😜

CHRISTMAS MARKETS IN PRAGUE

Would it be true Christmas without visiting any Christmas markets? :)
You can purchase handmade goods as the perfect Christmas gift, have a cup of mulled wine and just breath it the Christmas atmosphere.
Bellow you can find the full list of Christmas markets in Prague. The ones at Staroměstské náměstí are probably the most famous ones but we personally recommned you to visit the markets at Náměstí Míru.
They are more low-key, visited by locals and will not be that crowded - and just i front of the Church of St. Ludmila, a beautiful neo-gothic building!

THE CZECH REPUBLIC CELEBRATES 100 YEARS!
Museums and galleries have played an important role in preserving cultural legacy of past generations. This is why Prague's museums and galleries decided to join the anniversary of the Republic's foundation by a special weekend event on October 27th and 28th, 2018.

On the weekend fourteen museums and galleries in Prague will make available to 30 museum buildings free of charge or as a symbolic entrance price to celebrate one of the most important events of modern Czech history together with their visitors. During the weekend, accompanying events, lectures and tours will be prepared in selected buildings to present our history in the spirit of ongoing celebrations.

So if you spend this time in Prague do not miss the unique opportunity to learn more about Czech history.

ASTRONOMICAL CLOCK LEGEND
As one of the most visited sight in Prague the Astronomical clock has its own mysterious and scary legend. Once upon a time the Old Town councilors decided to have an extraordinary clock built in the Old Town hall. The chosen clock constructor was Mr. Hanus who had great skills and sacrificed many years of his life to this miracle gadget. Once it was finished it was certainly widely admired not only because of its rich decoration but also for its majesty. But there was a doubt in the councilors´ heads not to let Mr. Hanus construct such a beautiful and breathtaking machine anywhere else in the world. As he was experienced now… So they decided to unable him to do his job at all. They hired a man with a criminal reputation and gave him a lot of money to blind Mr. Hanus. So in the dark night he came to his house and he dug up his eyes. Mr. Hanus survived this „surgery“ but as an old man he was so disappointed by the ingratitude of the Old Town people that he asked his student to take him to the clock. The student didn´t know why and he obeyed. Mr. Hanus knew his „child“ perfectly so he grabbed out one piece and the Clock stopped working as well as his heart. Before that he uttered the course that brings a bad luck to the Old Town anytime the Clock is broken!

Do you think it is true? 😊

LESSER TOWN BRIDGE TOWER
These are actually two towers. The smaller and older one belonged to the Judith´s bridge and it hides a romanesque relief of unknown scene, it shows a young man on knees giving somethiing to the man sittin at the trone. Could by anything 😊 The higher one served as a entrace gate to the city of the Lesser Town. You can visit this one and climb it up and there is a one of the official information centres of the Prague City Tourism company.

OLD TOWN BRIDGE TOWER
This tower is one of the most beautiful gothic buildings in Europe! You shouldn´t miss it really…. Decoration remained only on east side of the tower. The west side decoration was completely destroyed in 17th century by Swedens (no fance 😊Currently you can see gothic statues of Charles IV., his son Wenceslas IV. and st. Vithus in the middle in the first floor. The second floor shows st. Zikmund and st. Vojtech, patrons saint of our nation. It is deeply symbolic building. At Midsummer noon you can see the lion´s shahow (czech nation symbol) on a eagle of st. Wencelas- that happens only once a year! You know when to come to Prague 😊
